Orientation

Orientation is the means by which new staff members are introduced to the mission, philosophy, and goals of the Health System. Prior to assuming the responsibilities of your new job, an orientation is scheduled. Taught by nurse educators, orientation prepares the employee for his/her new position. New staff members will be introduced to the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures, role expectations, physical facilities and skills relevant to their job description. The orientation process is centralized to address the generic policies, procedures and mandated programs and decentralized to provide an individual clinical experience that is competency based and mentored by a professional staff nurse on the unit of choice.
